πΈ Wishblossom Ranch has officially arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and wow… what an entrance. From the moment the train carries you into the Wishing Alps, the entire DLC feels like stepping into a brand-new chapter of the game — one filled with mystery, charm, and that dreamy magic Gameloft keeps delivering. Let’s get into my early impressions!
A Stunning, Mysterious New World
The very first thing that caught my attention was the visuals. Dreamlight Valley has always been a visual treat, but the Wishing Alps truly feels like a level-up. The ambience has this soft, mysterious energy that makes exploring feel calm and exciting at the same time. It’s the kind of environment that has you saying, “Okay, just five more minutes,” and suddenly an hour has gone by.
And the map? Massive — in the best way possible. I geeked out the moment it opened on my screen. There’s so much to uncover and I cannot wait to slowly unlock more and more as I progress through the story. This is a map built for cozy exploration.
If you’ve taken even a tiny peek at the Collections tab, you already know the crafting scene is about to go wild. But also.... blueprints are one of my favourite new mechanics, which you'll be able to find scattered throughout the Ranch. Discovering one feels like stumbling upon a little mystery waiting to be restored.
The best part? You don’t need all the materials at once. You can load items into the blueprint as you explore — simply walk up to the designated spot, deposit what you have, and come back later with the remaining materials. Keep in mind that each material must be deposited in its full required amount. If a blueprint calls for 10 stone (for example), you’ll need to supply all 10 at once, as partial deposits aren’t currently supported.
Once a blueprint is fully restored, not only does the object return to its original state, but you also unlock its crafting recipe. A perfect balance of world-building, progression, and crafting motivation. I’m obsessed already.
Now… the horses. The horses are everything. They’re magical, beautifully animated, and riding them feels unbelievably smooth — and fast. Zipping around the Ranch on horseback is something the game has absolutely nailed. It feels natural, fun, and honestly like a total game changer for how we’ll explore going forward. I didn’t expect to love it this much, but here we are.
A Cozy Day of Foraging, Fishing & Essentials.
I spent a good chunk of the gameplay doing some relaxed foraging and fishing, and even discovered a new fish along with some fresh crafting materials — always so satisfying. I'm sure all of the resources I gathered will come in use later on.
I also completed a few “essential” Day-One tasks (at least for me!) including setting up Goofy’s first stall, reopening Scrooge’s Store (which even included its own blueprint task, giving me a great intro to this new feature) and helping to get Remy’s Restaurant up and running in the Ranch.
I wrapped up my first play session after spotting some Geese (they are adorable). I fed them Red Currants, which I found throughout the Wishing Alps, and managed to befriend two of them once feeding them these fruits.
And as if the day couldn’t end any better, I caught a spectacular sunset over the Ranch — the colours, the atmosphere, the view… absolutely breathtaking.
If my first day is anything to go by, this DLC is something special. With each release, Gameloft manages to raise the bar, and Wishblossom Ranch is easily their best DLC yet. It feels fresh, well thought out and built with so much love, and it’s everything I hoped for and more.
And who knows what other surprises are ahead and beyond the Wishing Alps... ✨
