All twelve crafting recipes can be found through the Storybook Vale DLC. Once crafted, these pieces can be mixed and matched to create layered environments throughout your Valley. Fences and paths help define spaces, decorative items add character, and lighting elements bring everything together with atmosphere and depth. You'll likely notice that some pieces in this post are far more versatile than they first appear, working beautifully across many different builds and biomes in the game. 

Build & Decorating Ideas

This collection works beautifully when used as a set, but each item also stands strong on its own - or even mixed in with other items from the game. As the game continues to grow, so do the decorating possibilities. The unique charm of the stone fence variations makes them perfect for outlining gardens, walkways, and themed zones, especially when paired with the Broken Cobblestone Path in between (or something else, or even nothing at all!)

Decorative items like the Atrium Candles, Brave Bear Tapestry, and Autumn Mage Scarecrow add story-driven charm and visual interest. One of my favourites is the Bridge Lamp Post, which helps anchor builds and guide movement through your spaces. I particularly love placing these in city-style or Plaza inspired builds. Because these items share the same DLC origin, they naturally complement one another, making them ideal for larger builds where cohesion really matters.

✨ Villager Overview: Jasmine

✨ Next up in my Villager Overviews is Jasmine - the fearless and compassionate princess who brings strength, grace, and a sense of adventure to Disney Dreamlight Valley. In this entry, I’m sharing a closer look at Jasmine in the Valley - from how to unlock her to her friendship quests and more. 

🔓 How To Unlock Jasmine

Jasmine is unlocked through the Aladdin Realm, which can be accessed through the Dream Castle and will require Dreamlight to unlock. Dreamlight is obtained by completing duties in the Dreamlight Menu, or can be crafted with Dream Shard.

To add Jasmine to the Valley, you’ll need to complete all Aladdin realm quests. After completing the sixth and final realm quest 'Carpet Diem', Jasmine will make her way to the Valley and officially join your villager collection. Part of this quest will require you to add 'Aladdin and Jasmine's House' to the valley before Jasmine arrives.

Jasmine’s home reflects her royal roots while still feeling warm and inviting, and is one of my favourite decorated homes in the game, showcasing some lovely Agrabah-style pieces, most of which you'll discover can be added to your furniture collection as you continue playing. With its elegant design and subtle nods to Agrabah, her home fits beautifully in any sunny or desert-inspired areas of the Valley, adding a touch of calm sophistication wherever it’s placed. I have her home placed in The Fiery Plains, which is part of the Storybook Vale DLC.

📜 Complete Jasmine Friendship Quest List



Jasmine’s friendship quests focus on independence, leadership, and staying true to yourself. As you increase her friendship level through conversations, gifts, and quests, you’ll unlock story moments inspired by her journey beyond palace walls. Below are the quests you'll encounter as you level up Jasmine:

To increase Jasmine’s friendship level, give her favourite gifts (up to three per day, which reset daily), speak with her daily, and hang out together while exploring or completing tasks, as with all villagers.

Completing the level 10 friendship quest also unlocks 'The Secret Journal' quest item, which currently has no use - although I have transferred this item into one of my storage chests for safekeeping, as it may be needed in future.

✨ Jasmine was one of my favourite new characters to be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley in 2025. I loved everything from her questline to all the furniture pieces tied into her update. Building multiple markets across the Valley with the stalls added with her update was lots of fun and is something I've continued to do. I hope more different stall types are added in future!

The Winter Floating Festival: All Puzzle Guides & Rewards (2025)

The Winter Floating Festival brought a magical seasonal event to Disney Dreamlight Valley, complete with a Floating Island, cozy decorations, and five unique puzzles to solve over time. Each puzzle offered a different challenge - from cooking to observation and exploration - and rewarding you with new festive items. With this limited time event coming to an end, be sure to complete all puzzles and unlock every reward before the event wraps up on January 28 and melts away!

Puzzle 1 – The Frosty Rabbit: This puzzle revolves around feeding the Frosty Rabbit the correct Festive Hot Cocoa based on the day of the week. Completing this puzzle takes a minimum of four days, as each correct meal rewards a memory orb. Once all pieces are collected, digging at the marked location unlocks the reward.

Puzzle 2 – The Winter Chocolate Fountain: Puzzle 2 focuses on cooking and delivering large quantities of Festive Hot Cocoa to refill the fountain on the Floating Island.

Puzzle 3 – The Winter Combination Pillar: This puzzle requires matching clothing symbols on an interactive wall to the correct number of snowmen wearing each item across the island. Observation is key here, and once the symbols are aligned correctly, the reward is unlocked.

Woody is unlocked through the Toy Story Realm, which can be accessed inside the Dream Castle once you’ve gathered enough Dreamlight. To add him to the Valley, you’ll need to complete both Toy Story realm quests. During the second quest 'You're My Favorite Deputy', you'll need to add and construct Woody's house in the Valley and once completed he will officially join your villager collection.

Woody’s home reflects his Toy Story roots, fitting perfectly with his playful, nostalgic personality. It adds a fun, toy-inspired touch to the Valley and pairs especially well with themed areas, other Pixar villagers, or even theme park–style builds.

All five of these items are crafted through the

Storybook Vale DLC catalogue. While each recipe requires its own set of materials, they share a similar crafting style, making them ideal to work through together if you’re planning a themed build. The only crafting item required that is not unique to The Storybook Vale collection is the Iron Ingot.

Once crafted, these pieces can be placed indoors to instantly establish a calm, cohesive look. The matching green tones help tie a room together without feeling overwhelming, especially when paired with natural textures like wood flooring, bookshelves, rugs, and soft lighting. I found the Green Novel Tennis Table also works nicely outdoors.

✨ Today’s entry is all about Mother Gothel - the manipulative and calculating villain who brings mystery, control, and a darker edge to Disney Dreamlight Valley. 🔓 How To Unlock Mother Gothel

Mother Gothel is unlocked through the main Dreamlight Valley storyline and becomes available after progressing far enough to restore key story elements in the Valley. 

To unlock her, you’ll need to open the Glade of Trust biome (Dreamlight required) and complete 'The Curse' story quest. Once these steps are completed, Mother Gothel will officially join the Valley and be added to your villager collection.

Unlike many villagers, Mother Gothel’s home is already placed in the Valley. She resides inside the Great Willow which is located in the Glade of Trust - a fittingly eerie and overgrown space that reflects her secretive nature. The Great Willow is a massive tree that feels both ancient and unsettling. Its twisting roots and shadowy interior perfectly match her manipulative personality, making it one of the most distinctive villager homes in the Valley. Since her home is fixed in place, it can’t be moved - but it adds strong atmosphere to the biome it inhabits and helps shape the story-driven side of the Valley.

To boost Mother Gothel’s friendship level more quickly, as with all characters: give favourite gifts (up to three per day, which reset daily), speak with her daily, and hang out together while exploring or completing tasks.

Mother Gothel’s quests bring a darker tone to the Valley, offering a nice contrast to some of the more light-hearted villagers. Whether you enjoy her for story progression, rewards, or pure villain energy, she’s a memorable character to have roaming the Valley.

I personally enjoy everything when it comes to Mother Gothel - from her animations, quirky one-liners, and, well... her attitude. She's also from one of my favourite Disney animation films, Tangled, so my like for her may be a little biased. Even after completing all of her quests, she remains one of few villagers I like to spend regular time with.
